Ivan Marcio fell in love with the harmonica at the age of 13 and a year later, in 1991, listening to Elmore James, his passion turned to love for the Blues (which became an inseparable companion of this harmonica player native of the State of São Paulo).
In 1994, he founded the “Blueseiros de Sarja” together with friends from ABC Paulista. In 1998, he became a member of “Zoonose” (Hard Blues band), winning in 1999 the Musical Festival of Praia Grande/SP – remaining so until 2003.
In the period from 1998 to 2001 he became part of the “Dr. Blues” – traditional band of ABC paulista that in 1998 made the first CD of his career.
In addition to various participations in the songs of CDs of Brazilian and international artists and bands, in 2002 Ivan Marcio became member of the “Mr. Mojo”, releasing the second CD of the band.
In 1999, he began his work with the Prado Brothers & Swing It! Blues, which in 2000 became known as “Prado Blues Band”, band that would become in 2004 the revelation of National Blues and pioneer of a music style called Jump Blues - “The Prado Blues Band is a post-graduation of the Brazilian Blues” said Nuno Mindelis in the Diário do Grande ABC. Releasing their 2nd CD in October 2005, the band is a domestic reference for visiting musicians, festivals and big events.
With many requests for promotion of workshops in Brazil, he studied pedagogy (which helps him in harmonica studies in the Juventude Cidadã Project, in São Bernardo do Campo, training over 100 students per year. This yielded him praises from Billy Branch in the last International Blues Festival of Santo André, where he was congratulated for spreading the true story of Blues (Billy participates in a similar project in USA, knowing the difficulty of learning the Blues harmonica).
