VASCO FAÉ

Famous for the fact of being a one-man-band and also for his refined technique of motor coordination on playing the harmonica on the support simultaneously with the electric guitar (pioneer in the development of this technique in the country - since he began to play professionally in the mid 2008), Vasco Faé performed nothing less than 1,500 presentations in Brazil, and he is still on the road. In August he returned from a tour in the Northeast through the Festival Oi Blues By Night, where he passed through Recife, João Pessoa, Fortaleza and Teresina, confirming for the fourth consecutive year that there are many blues fans there.

In 1993, he founded the “Irmandade do Blues”, band that recorded the first CD of a Blues quartet in Brazil (Veneno) in 1996, by the record company Eldorado, which also released the second CD "Good Feelings", in 2007. Back to 1997, he created the project “Blueseiros do Brasil”, which already had the two Jam Session CDs recorded at the studio and produced by Vasco. In addition to the harmonica, Vasco also composes, produces, sings, plays the guitar, drums and bass, and is also member of the band “Triangulista”, which plays classics of the Brazilian music.

Between 2003 and 2005, he was a member as singer, harmonica player and composer of the “Blues Etílicos”, in 2001 alongside Kléber Albuquerque. In 2002 he entered the band of Andreas Kisser, the Brasil Rock Stars, shared the stage at small presentations with Samuel Rosa, Herbert Viana, Nando Reis, Pitty, Frejat, Lobão, Caetano Veloso, Simone, Bocato, among others.

Whew!! After all, he can. Vasco Faé bought his first harmonica in 1987 at the age of 16, totally by chance, and it seems that this “by chance” contributed a lot. With the diatonic harmonica, he has been earning the respect and attention of the great public and the harmonica players in the country and abroad.

He is sensational on TV: his harmonica has been heard at Musikaos (Cultura), Todo Seu – Ronnie Von (Gazeta), Bem Brasil (Cultura), Altas Horas (Globo) and Fábio Jr. (Record) and others.

In 2007, Vasco Faé released the solo CD "Manoblues". Inedited work on CD in Brazil, it contains an important study on the “Delta Blues”.

Part of the CD is as a result of a research on the Mississippi Blues registered in the 20s, and another part comprises Vasco Faé’s inedited compositions inspired in the "Delta Blues", style which he is dedicated to since the beginning of the 90s.

The new CD contains very special participations of musicians like Adriano Grineberg, Andreas Kisser, Fábio Azeitona, Ivan Marcio and Theo Werneck. In most of the songs, Faé plays the following alone: harmonica, electric guitar and guitar, bass drum and, finally, he sings, exploring atmospheres, dynamics and pitches with very good taste.
